  • Ski lessons start on Sunday, January 4th, 2026
  • New coaches and parent helpers are welcome and needed! FREE training provided!  Reach out to our Coach Coordinator, Morgan Paulson at info@ominecaskiclub.ca
  • Jackrabbits and Track Attack participants will need both classic and skate ski equipment.
  • Ski rentals from the OSC should be reserved and paid for in Zone4 when you sign up for the membership & lessons.
  • Bunnies participants require that an adult or responsible teen (age 13+) is on skis with them and is a member of the OSC.
  • The main lodge will be open and available to all OSC members and guests on Sundays to use the facilities (kitchen + bathrooms).
  • If you are feeling unwell, stay home!
  • Cold weather cut off for lessons is -15°C for all age groups.
SDP SCHEDULE, REGISTRATION AND CONTACT INFORMATION

LESSSON SCHEDULE:

  • Lessons will start on Sunday January 4TH, 2026 and continue until mid-March.
  • Start time will likely be 2:00 PM for all groups; lesson duration to be determined by the coaches. 
  • Bunnies is typically 45 min, Jackrabbits 1 hr. and Track Attack 1.5 hrs. Sr. Jackrabbits and Track Attack will have an evening lesson during the week in addition to Sunday’s lesson. That evening will be determined by the coach’s availability and what works for the majority of families in that group

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

  • An OSC membership is required to participate in lessons.
  • Registration deadline: December 1, 2025. ***Late registration will only be accepted if there is room in the lesson group OR a new coach is available*** 
  • Registration for membership, lessons, and ski rentals are all on Zone4.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Skill Development Program (SDP) provides ski lessons for kids aged 4-12 years old.

Bunnies are ages 4-5 yrs.

  • Lessons are directed at skiers during the “Active Start” stage of athlete development.
  • Designed to help children develop a positive self-image and have fun.
  • Develop fundamental movement skills.
  • Foster an awareness of the natural environment and meet new friends!

 

Jackrabbits are typically ages 6-9 yrs.

  • Lessons are directed at skiers in the “FUNdamentals” stage of athlete development.
  • Designed to help children develop confidence and have fun.
  • To socialize with ski friends.
  • Build overall motor skills and develop winter safety skills.

 

Track Attack are typically ages 10-12 yrs.

  • Lessons are directed at skiers in the “Learning to Train” stage of athlete development.
  • Designed to develop fitness through active play, games and other activities and be fun.
  • To provide an opportunity to be part of a team.
  • Develop competence in cross country ski skills and to experience a variety of adventure-based cross country ski activities.
